Adios April in Mixed Age!
Good Afternoon Mixed Age Families,
We had a great week all back together. Everyone settled right back into the routine of the day and kept very busy. They have been loving playing outside for recess and we have been trying to get out for a few minutes extra each day. Now that the weather is getting warmer and they are running around outside they get thirsty so bringing in a water bottle is a good idea if they don't already have one for snack time. Thank you!
Please make sure to bring the permission slips back for our upcoming field trip to the Fire Station on May 11th if you have not done so already :)
Here is what we did in the classroom this week:
Math Table~ Number flowers with pipe cleaner stems and beads for counting.
Discovery Table~ The kids have been very busy making rain clouds this week; they used a cup of water with shaving cream on the top and then used a dropper to drop blue water from another cup and watched the blue go through the "cloud". This was a very popular place to be this week.
Art/Writing Table~ Bottle/Pouch cap trees. They glued on a trunk and then added the caps to the tree. They also made paper plate frogs; they finger painted green and once it was dry they added the frog pieces to it.....they are adorable! The kids have also been practicing writing their names all this week, they are doing great. They had fun coloring Bruins coloring sheets and making a banner to cheer them on!
Easel~ Flower sticker and stems and they also used fresh flowers and leaves to put onto contact paper to make window catchers.
Pretend Center~ We have babies and food back here this month, this was a class favorite this school year so we wanted to make sure they had the opportunity to have them again. They have been very busy there this week.
Mrs. G came in today and they played some instruments; maracas, tambourines, bells, and hand drum. They also listen to the story The Blue Cockatoo.
Books: Music:

Show and Tell on Monday is something that begins with the first letter of their last name; we are going to start talking about their last names. Please bring in 1 item when they come into the classroom on Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Best,
Julie Haynes & Katy Fyrberg
