Week 10 in Mixed Age
Hello Families,
What a quick week, always strange to have only 2 days of school but we certainly got a lot done and the weather was perfect for outside play!!! Here is what we did in the classroom.
Math~ Numbered 1-5 locks and keys. This was a very popular center this week. The kids had to match the correct key to the lock by counting the numbers of beads on the key chain. Each lock had a number 1-5 as well as dots for that number so if they could not recognize the number they could count the dots on the lock instead.
Discovery~ Foam wreaths with golf tees and elastics. This is a great activity for strengthening the muscles in their fingers.Â
Art/Writing~ Thankful Turkeys (picture included). There was also Letter B sheets and plain paper and Thanksgiving stickers for the kids to use.
Easel~ Painting with green or blue paint using pine cones.
Listening Center~ Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes.
Pretend Center~ The kids have been very busy cleaning the classroom as well as taking care of the babies that are now at the center.Â
Books:
Bera Says Thanks By Karma Wilson
Cookies Week By Cindy Ward (This was a favorite book today and they even requested we read it again while we were eating snack....which we did)Â
Music~Â
Bear HuntÂ
Silly Bear Hunt
No School Tomorrow November 11, in Observance of Veterans Day. See you all on Monday!
Please have your child bring in 1 item for the letter C next on Monday for show and tell. I have really enjoyed listening to the kids talk about their items so far!! Keep it up!!Â
Have a wonderful weekend!Â
Regards,
 Julie Haynes
