Winter Fun Continues in 4 Day Pre-K!

Hello Pre-K 2 Families!

I hope everyone has had another great week, I know that we did in Pre-K! It was another short week with having Monday off but we got a lot accomplished! Our letter of the week was "J" and the kids all did a great job with their show & tells. (our next letter of the week is D) Please remember to only send in show & tell for 1 day (Tuesday or Wednesday). If your child is out sick those 2 days then they can bring in their show & tell when they return. I am hoping that the temperatures warm up next week so we can go outside because this past week was way too cold and the playground was icy! Please make sure that your child has a hat, mittens and a warm coat everyday.

Here is a look at our week in Pre-K …..

At the Math Center the kids had to find the correct shape that matched the ones on their gingerbread man and glue it on. After they were done searching for the matching shapes they got to color their giant gingerbread man cookie.

At the Art Table the kids made "name snowmen" which are hanging up inside our classroom. The kids had to put their snowman letters in order correctly and then they got to decorate it. These came out SUPER cute! At the easel we had a bunch of winter themed coloring pages for the kids to create using crayons or water color.

At the Discovery Table this week we got to play with snow. They also got to practice writing their letters in shaving cream. I added some food coloring to both the snow and shaving cream as well. They sure got messy!

At the Writing Center we had a variety of "J" papers for them to practice with. We also had some cutting worksheets as well.

I think the best table this week was Play-Doh! On Thursday the kids decided to create "food" out of play-doh and compete like they were on "Chopped". This was all their idea and it was the BEST thing to watch! I got to "eat" a bunch of sandwiches, cookies, pizza and someone even made a Diet Coke!

The books we read this week:

-Martin Luther King Jr.

-Henny Penny (Reading Street)

-Lost and Found

-PlayDates Rule

-How Do Dinosaurs Play With Their Friends

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will see you all on Monday!
