A Little Luck in Younger Preschool!

Hello everyone!

I hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful Saturday! This week we had a great time in class, and we loved seeing everyone at the spaghetti supper last night! This week we talked about St. Patrick's Day, and the classroom was even visited by a leprechaun! We also learned about rainbows and what causes them to appear, and learned about the signs of Spring. This week we learned the letter Q and next week's letter will be R! Here is a look at what we did in class this week:

The art table- The class made two different types of rainbows, one that was painted using Q-Tips and another that was made out of strips of paper and cotton ball "clouds".

The art easel- Here we colored letter Q and St. Patrick's day coloring pages.

The math table- The class sorted through a tub of St. Patrick's day items to sort and count gold coins, rainbows, and other items into numbered pots.

The discovery table- We made rainbows out of fruit loops, pipe cleaners, and marshmallows! We also used colored paper towels and cups of water to create walking rainbows!

This week we included Pete the Cat- Rocking in My School Shoes at the listening center.

The books we read as a class this week included :

                                                     How to Catch a Leprechaun

                                                     The Hidden Rainbow

                                                     When Will it be Spring?

Recently we have noticed that most of our friends in class have been extra hungry during snack time at school- those growth spurts are in full effect! It is late in the year and we just want to ask everyone that you please send your child with at least three items that will help sustain them until lunch time. We do provide them extra snacks when they are still hungry; however, we are now  purchasing and restocking classroom snacks

every week. Thankyou for your help and understanding!

I hope that you all enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we will see you again next week!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
