Hello families and friends,
I hope that you are all doing well and have already begun to enjoy the summer with your little ones. I can not believe that the year has come to an end. We have adored every wonderful moment with our class and know that each of our students will continue on to grow and become even stronger learners and individuals!
Here is a final look at what we did last week:
The art table- The class made watermelon paper plate crafts that coincided with the book, The Watermelon Seed.
The math table- The class participated in a game named watermelon math, where they counted seeds on watermelon picture cards and then had to find and identify circles with the matching number to cover the seeds with.
The art easel- We watercolor painted last day of school coloring pages and participated in free art with watercolor and markers.
The discovery center- Here we used the light tables with translucent insects for a fun summer themed activity. \
This week instead of playdough the class made slime! Each group voted on a color and each child participated in making, mixing, and playing with their batch! They LOVED this!
This week we also celebrated all of our friends with summer birthdays. Happy Birthday to all of you! We also got to be an audience for the children who were graduating this year. Our class did an amazing job cheering on the graduating students, and those who were performing also did an amazing job!
Books we read in class this week included:
The Watermelon Seed
Instead of Goodbye
See You Later Alligator
The students also took home their Father's Day gifts this week. They are very excited and proud to give them to their Dads!
We are going to miss all of our students and we are so thankful for all of the amazing families we got to connect with this year. We thank all of you for the beautiful end of year gifts we were given, and the heartwarming notes and pictures from the kiddos we received. ( I may or may not have cried )!
We look forward to seeing those of you attending summer camp soon, and as for everyone else, we can not wait to see you again in September! Remember to always be kind, and to always be curious!
With care, your Younger Preschool Teachers-
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes ♥️♥️♥️
