Hello everyone, I hope that you are all doing well.
We can hardly believe that next week is the last week of school! We are cherishing every moment with our wonderful class, and look forward to celebrating them next week! We have officially finished show and tell within the classroom! Next week we will be celebrating all of the children who have summer birthdays; we will be supplying a special treat on Monday and Tuesday, most likely Loft House cookies. On Wednesday and Thursday we will be celebrating both classes and their last days of school, where the class will get to enjoy popsicles during recess at the end of the day. We will be giving out Johnny Pop freeze Pops; if anyone would prefer that their child not participate in either activity, the birthday treats or popsicles, please reach out to me as soon as possible. Here is a look at what we did in class this week:
The art table- The class worked hard on Father's Day gifts and their end of year projects! We also offered stamping and free art.
The art easel- The class participated in a specially themed watercolor activity.
The math table- The children counted marked locks and were able to identify numbered keys that would open each lock.
Discovery center- The class continued to observe butterflies and slides with magnifying glasses and microscopes. We have officially released all of the butterflies! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching our painted ladies flutter away!
At the listening center the class followed along to Clark the Shark- Afraid of the Dark.
Books we read in class this week included:
Grumpy Monkey- The Father's Day Fuss
The Night Before Father's Day
Butterflies ( nonfiction )
How to Catch a Daddysaurus
Next week we will be holding our end of year sing along with Mrs. T. on Monday, June 1st, from 11:00-11:30! Both the Mon/Wed/Fri and Tues/Thurs class may attend with their families. We hope to see you there!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone next week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
