March In Action in Pre-K!

Hi All,
Important information for this week:
Show & Tell for letter K will be on Thursday
Our next Spirit Day will also be on Thursday. It is Staying In (pjs) vs Going Out (fancy clothes)
Read Across America Week.....and we sure did read this week! By Dr Seuss we read The Cat In The Hat, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, Hop on Pop and Would You Rather be a Bullfrog? We also read Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.
Extended Day students read A Rainbow Around Me by Don Freeman, My Friend Rabbit by Eric Rohmann and Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully by Audrey Penn.
Our Letter of the Week was R and our song was Riding In My Red Race Car.
Other activities included:
Play Doh: It is now green with shamrock cookie cutters, rainbow erasers and gold coins.
Discovery: Rainbow rocks were used to create objects
Sensory Table: More construction vehicles were added to the kinetic sand. Towns were created complete with a "town hall".
Math Table: We continue to work on number recognition while having fun!
Art Easel: We started the week with white paper and free art. At the end of the week the children painted their own rainbow fish using celery.
Project Table: Cat in the Hat ;hats were created...markers were used to color the stripes and the children cut their own hats out.
The children used markers and paint sticks to decorate rocks.
Rabbits were decorated using markers, pom poms and pipe cleaners.
The children made their own "people" by decorating a plate and then gave it a haircut, practicing their scissor skills.
We also painted rainbows and used squeeze glue & tongs to add clouds (pom poms to the ends).
Writing Table: R worksheets, R books, color paper and chalkboards.
