Hello everyone and happy Friday! I hope that you are all doing well and once again are able to enjoy the beautiful weather! This week the class was very excited to talk about Easter and the upcoming festivities they will be partaking in! We learned about the letter S, and had many fun show and tell items that the kids were happy to share with their friends. Next week's letter is T. This week we talked a lot about sharing and ways to be kind, and during our circle times the children came up with ideas on how to do those things and thought about who they could do them with! The class has also been working very hard on writing their names the past couple of weeks. They are doing an amazing job! Be sure to check out your children's work that gets sent home to find their letters, as they have been very proud of themselves in doing so! Here is a look at what we did in centers this week:

The art table- Here the class made puffy painted Easter eggs, and then used wind up "Easter bunnies" and chicks in paint to create tracks! This was a big hit with everyone, and the class loved racing their wind up animals across the paper on the floor!

The art easel- The class used halved Easter eggs to paint, and then watercolor painted Easter themed coloring pages.

The discovery center- This week we made bird feeders using Sun Butter and bird seed! We then built towers out of plastic eggs.

The math table- The class used picture cards and colored insects to match colors, numbers, and create patterns. ( The spiders were very popular! )

The dramatic play center is now spring cleaning themed! It contains household cleaning themed toys including a miniature vacuum, baby dolls and their accessories including a bassinet, and kitchen toys. We have some very nurturing kiddos in the younger preschool classroom!

Playdough is now blue for April and includes rubber ducks and playdough tools.

The sensory table for the first half of the month will contain frogs, turtles, ducks, rocks, aquatic plants, and water! This center has been very busy thus far.

Books we read as a class this week included:

                                                        Ten Little Birds

Pete the Cat and the Easter Basket Bandit

Too Many Carrots- this was a favorite for both classes!

This week we also included an Easter themed ring toss game! The kids had a great time trying to throw their rings onto sets of bunny ears.

This week during music and movement times we listened to the Easter Bunny Hop, Bounce Like a Bunny, B-U-N-N-Y, and more.

I am so excited for all of our students looking forward to Easter this weekend! I hope that both they, and you, have an amazing holiday filled with fun and family. Enjoy the weekend, and happy Easter!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
