Hi All,
Important information for the upcoming week:
Last Spirit Day for March is Monday....Basketball vs Baseball
Show & Tell for letter M will be on Thursday
Our Reading Street book was See How They Grow: Owl by Mary Ling. "Close-up integrated photographs and an informative text follow every stage of an owl's development from its hatching from an egg to its full-grown stage." Our vocabulary words were chick, down, owl, eggshell, feathers and tasty.
Our Reading Street song was Fly Little Owl. The children had fun pretending they were owls as we sang our song. We talked about how tall an average barn owl is and where it would come up to on the children if they were next to it.
Our Letter of the Week was V. Our Letter Sound Song was Viv, Victor and Vikki Grow Veggies.
We were lucky to have our monthly visit with Mrs. T on Wednesday.
Other activities included:
Project Table: V is for veggies. The children could color in vegetables, cut them out and create a vegetable garden.
V is for vest. The children could use various art supplies to design their own vests.
And free art as always, where the children are free to work on their own ideas.
Art Easel: Sparkly paint was available with white paper.
Play Doh: New cookie cutters, including eggs, bunnies and carrots are available. Along with plastic eggs to use with the play doh.
Writing Table: V books and worksheets to practice letter V and identify letter V among other letters.
Listening Center: Have Fun, Molly Lou Melon by Lou Melon.
Discovery Table: Matching animal patterns
Math Table: Tweezer tong sorting/patterns
