Toodle-oo 2022 in Enrichment!

Good afternoon everyone!

First, we want to thank everyone for the generous and thoughtful gifts, cards, and kind words going into our holiday break. Your kindness is much appreciated! We feel very grateful to be able to spend time with your kiddos, and we can't wait to see what the new year brings!

Next, we want to remind you that today was the last day of school for Enrichment for 2022. We'll see everyone again on Tuesday January 3rd, 2023!

We jam packed this week full of fun!

On Monday Mrs. Lehane came to read us Secrets of Winter by Carron Brown and Georgina Tee. It was a shine-a-light book, where we revealed hidden things by shining a flashlight on the pages.

On Tuesday Ms. Heather played more drama games with us where we explored our emotions (happy, sad, scared, angry, excited).

And today Mrs. G came in to share music with us. The children listened to Sleigh Ride by the Boston Pops, kept the beat with pool noodles on the floor, and played bells!

Our book this week was Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. This was a BIG BOOK so that we could see the wonderful detail of Jan Brett's illustrations. The children did a wonderful job remembering and retelling the story based on what they had heard and seen the previous two days!

What was NEW in CENTERS?

Art- We decorated large paper with stamps and crayons, then used that paper to finish our very special projects that went home today.

Easel- Gingerbread house color by number

Math- This week the math table was home to our Gingerbread body part identification and decorating, and working together to build a bridge to help our panda get across the table.

Discovery- The children made reindeer food by scooping oats and shaking glitter into their own bags.

Wishing you all a wonderful, healthy, and as restful holiday break as you can with small children (we all know how that can go. LOL!).

Best wishes,

Christina Renoni, Ashlee Taylor, and Erica Derbyshire
