Week 9 in Pre-K 2

Hello Pre K Families,

We had a great week in Pre-K! We enjoyed the beautiful weather this week and had some extra time outside! We read a wonderful book yesterday, I like Myself!

We took turns sharing what we liked about ourselves… It was amazing!!!

This is what went on in the centers this week!

Dramatic Play- This month we have a Mexican Restaurant!! We have a waiting list each day. Tacos to make, orders to take and music to play! A real fiesta!

Playdough Table- This month at the table the playdough is brown, and there are feathers, google eyes and pipe cleaners, To make Turkeys! Each month the color changes, along with the theme.

Art Easel- This week the children painted with water colors.

Discovery Table-The children learned about insects this week. They have 3 parts, head, thorax( chest ) and abdomen ( belly).

Art Table- There was an I is for ice cream craft. Ink Stamps and a challenging turkey craft.

This weeks Reading Street book was… Cassies Word Quilt

In this 32-page lap book we join Cassie, the main character from Tar Beach. As she takes us on a tour of her home, neighborhood, and school, dozens of new words are introduced with simple labels throughout. Cassie lives in an apartment in the city. Vocabulary words were-Apartment, city, quilt and subway.
