April Fun in Mixed Age

Hello Mixed Age Families, Another great week is in the books, it's hard to believe that the end of the school year is fast approaching. The next month will be very busy and we will have lots more fun. I have enjoyed watching your children grow and learn this year and I am so thankful I have had each of them with me this year. Here is what we did this week in our classroom~ Math Table~ Shape sorting. Each shape has its own puzzle with different sizes and colors of the shapes. They enjoyed creating and sorting the sizes of each shape and making designs with them. Discovery Table~ Magna tiles and bears. They love the Magna tiles and have really been creative while building together with them. The bears add a different component to their play as they build towers, boxes and houses for them. Art Table~ Coffee Filter Earth day activity. We have been talking a lot about taking care of the Earth this week and how Earth Day is coming up on April 22. The first step was to use green and blue markers and color the coffee filter completely, the next step was to spray the filter with water and make the colors bleed together. When they were dry they looked like planet Earth. They also had Earth Day coloring sheets and plain paper to use. Easel~ Painting trees with q-tips to make lower buds growing on the bare tree limbs. They painted some beautiful trees this week. Listening Center~ Froggy Builds a Treehouse By Jonathan London Books: Wishy Washy Day By Joy Cowley Where does the Garbage Go?
