Celebrating love and friendship in Enrichment

Hi all!

What a week! We started off with snow and ended it with a party! Wahoo! I want to thank everyone who sent in things and offered to send in things for our special Valentine's Day snack! The fruit, cupcakes, and juice boxes with extra special plates and napkins made for a fun start to our love filled day!

This was our last week with Ms. Katy and Yoga. We played a final game of "Yogi Says" with all the poses we've learned throughout the weeks! I think the kids liked downward dog the best! I hope you can join us for the Jack and Jill fundraiser Ms. Katy is having for us! I'm sure she'd love to see their familiar faces! And she'd get to see their whole face, which she hasn't seen before!

Our letter of the week this week was F! The children came up with quite a list this week! They came up with more during the day, and told me, but not always when I had a marker in my hand. They're really getting the hang of this!

Our books this week were Valentine's Day by Anne and Lizzy Rockwell, Pout-Pout Fish Special Valentine by Deborah Diesen and Dan Hanna, Click, Clack, Moo I Love You! by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin, and The Day It Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond. They were all declared favorites by one or another of the students throughout our three days! They're all about thinking about our friends, and showing your loved ones that you love them!

What's NEW in this week's centers?

Yellow Bins- The children enjoyed putting Feathers in the holes of a colander. They not only were working those fine motor muscles, but also were pretending to make funny hairstyles with them!

Blue Bin- F letter find with dot markers

Art- Decorating Valentine's bags, and coloring in our Friendship Flowers. Each of the children were given their own set of flower petals with their each other's names on them. These pedals are going to be cut out and put around the center of the flower, which they colored in for themselves! They did a wonderful job thinking about their friends and decorating the petals based on each member of the class! It was very sweet to hear them asking each other their favorite color, then excitedly going back to the table to color in that friend's petal! I'll be sure to send a picture along of the finished projects.

Ending the days playing out in the snow was the cherry on top of a great week! The kids found new ways to play with the trucks that are usually in the sand box, made snow angels, and used magnifying glasses with black paper to make some fun and beautiful discoveries about snow!

I hope you all have a wonderful, safe, and healthy Feb. vacation next week, and a happy Valentine's Day with your little loves!

Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have!

Warmly,

Christina Renoni
