Moments in May in Enrichment!
Good afternoon!
I can't believe it's already the middle of May! We're coming to the end of the school year, and while that can be exciting, it can also bring with it some other emotions for the little ones. At Jack and Jill, we acknowledge and affirm the children's feelings, no matter what they are. We let them know that we're here for them, and encourage them to look forward to the new and fun adventures they'll be experiencing too. Moving on can be a lot, no matter the age. We're here for love and support!
Speaking of the end of the year... Could you please send in a reusable bag with your child's name on it next week? We'll have a number of things to send home on the last day of school, and it won't all fit in backpacks.
We started off this week with a visit from the Mystic Aquarium! Ms. Pam came to talk to us about sea life! We got to play a game, and touch some live and dried sea life! It was lots of fun!
Tuesday was our last Yoga class with Mrs. Fyrberg. We chose cards to make our own yoga pose sequence, and did our favorite song, Little Yoga Clock! Thanks for the fun Mrs. Fyrberg!
And today we had a picnic snack time in the classroom! Our book this week was The Very Hungry Caterpillar By Eric Carle.Today we watched Eric Carle himself read us the book, took a tour of The Eric Carle Museum (in Amherst, MA!), and watched an animated version of the book, all from the comfort of our classroom!
What was NEW in centers?
Art- The children put together and decorated butterfly magnets!
Easel- Dot marker spring pictures
Math table- We got to cut and glue the pictures of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and made our own books!
Discovery- Our caterpillars all made it into their chrysalis last weekend, so now we get to observe them from the net!
These, in addition to the block area, library, playdough, sensory, pretend center, writing table, and playground make for busy, curious, and creative times!
Please reach out if you have any questions! Have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Christina Renoni, Ashlee Taylor, and Erica Derbyshire
