Good evening, everyone,
I hope that you are all doing well. This week was our final full week of school here at Jack and Jill, can you believe it? This year really flew by, and we have been so fortunate and happy to be your children's teachers. Next week we will be celebrating all of the children who have summer birthdays on Friday. We will provide Oreos as the birthday treats. Here is a look at what our week looked like:
At the art table the children made ice cream cones with puffy paint and glitter, tons of glitter!
At the writing table we used various stamps and ink pads, included free draw, and offered graduation day and spring themed coloring pages.
At the discovery center we continued to observe our final chrysalises until the last butterfly joined us in the classroom; all of the butterflies have now been set free.
At the easel the class used crayons to color butterfly themed pages.
At the math table we had an ice-cream cone math activity that required matching numbered cones to ice cream scoops.
This week we talked about the importance of telling the truth, how to prevent the spread of germs and sickness, and the coming of summer, along with all of the fun activities summer might bring! We continue to work hard in class on our graduation songs; the graduates are doing great in rehearsals! The books we read in class are as follows:
Bear Gets Sick
The Bernstein Bears and the Truth
The Best Bug Parade
We hope that you all get to enjoy a hopefully sunny Memorial Day weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next Tuesday!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
