Hello families! I hope that you are all doing well this week. With only one week of school left this month the class has been very busy and has been working very hard on a special gift for all of you! The children have really loved taking part in the spirit of giving this holiday season. This week we also had two special guests in school, Mrs. Brown from the Attleboro public library, who read us the story, It's Winter, and Mrs. T for some festive music and dancing! Here is a look at what we did in centers this week:
The art table- The class worked on their gifts, used construction paper and finger paint to create Manoras, made Santa hats, and made Christmas light window decorations.
The easel- Here we used dot markers, washi tape, and ribbon to create paper ornaments, and used paint markers to color snow globes.
The math table- the class used pom poms and numbered Christmas trees to count and match.
The discovery center- Here we used red, green, and white pony beads to make candy canes! The children really love beading activities!
The stories we read in class this week included:
The Colors of Christmas
Chica Chica Ho Ho Ho
The class has been enjoying having a letter of the week, and did really well with the letter H! This week we enjoyed many pleasant conversations about Christmas, and all of the other special Holidays people celebrate in the month of December. We hope that you all enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we can't wait to see everyone again soon!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes '
