Hi Families,
I hope everyone is keeping warm this weekend! I was so happy to see some of you at Jack and Jill's Open House on Saturday! If you know anyone looking for a preschool, Registration is open and classes are filling up! Registration for Summer Preschool is also open.
Our week was short but full! Because of the snow days we took a break from our Reading Street Curriculum. We did read Snow Day by Betsy Meastro and One Snowy Rescue by M. Christina Butler. We listened and moved to We are the Dinosaurs by Laurie Berkner.
Our Letter of the Week was D. Our song was Did Old Dandy Dog Dig in the Dirt?
Other fun included:
Play-Doh table: Instead of play doh, we had fresh snow to mold, shovel, rake or paint.
Art Easel: Dinosaurs to decorate
Project Table: Snowflake art....pastel paint sticks, white strips of paper, stamp pads, etc were all available to create snowy art work
Pretend Center: The kitchen and cleaning products are certanly being used and enjoyed!
Math Table: Identifying numerals 1-10
Discovery Table: Recycling sorting game
Our week ended with a visit on Friday from Mrs. T. We built a snowman, pretended to be a snowman, sang, danced and moved to many songs!
Looking ahead our Letter of the Week will be P. Show & Tell will be on Thursday.
We will be having a Patriots Spirit Days on Thursday and Friday.
Valentine's Day Info ♥️
\We will be celebrating Valentine's Day at school on Thursday, February 12th. We will be exchanging valentines in our classroom. We have 10 children in our class. As far as delivering cards it is easiest if you send in the valentines just signed by who it is from and leave the "to" blank. We are a nut-free school and are asking that food and candy not be sent with the valentines. Stickers, tattoos, pencils, etc are a good alternative if you would like.
Also, please send in a Valentine mailbox for your child. The children can make this out of a box (tissue box, shoe box, cereal box, etc) or bag. Please make sure to put your child's name on their mailbox. Feel free to even put their picture on it. Have fun making it! Your child can bring in their mailbox/bag and valentines on Thursday, February 12th.
See you in the morning!
Mrs. Kelley
