Pre-K's Weekly Wrap Up!

Hello All,

We had a busy week in our classroom! Lots of fun, learning and even two visitors. On Wednesday, Mrs. Brown from the Attleboro Public Library came in to visit us. On Friday, the children enjoyed a visit with Mrs. T. We sang along to the book Wheels On The Bus Christmas, played bells as we sang Christmas carols and learned a counting song for Hanukkah.

Our Reading Street Book this week was Round Is A Mooncake: A Book Of Shapes by Roseanne Thong. "A little girl's neighborhood becomes a discovery ground of things round, square and rectangular." The children were very excited to point out objects in our book and name what shape the object was. We also did this within our classroom. This is a fun activity that you could do in your home too.

Our song was Come With Me. Our vocabulary words were ticket, envelope, mooncake, basket and room.

We listened to Click, Clack, Ho! Ho! Ho! by Doreen Cronin and read The Perfect Present by Stella Jones, The Gingerbread Man Loose In The School by Laura Murray and The Berenstain Bears and the In-Crowd by Stan & Jan Berenstain.

The children enjoyed learning about letter Q this week. Be sure to ask what letter goes with Q. They had a lot of fun figuring this out!

Other activities included:

Math Table: Patterns with duplo legos

Project Table: Q is for Queen...the children worked hard at gluing, coloring and decorating their queen with jewels.

Wreath decorating...peeling stickers and creating a holiday wreath.

We also worked on a special project.

Art Easel: Painting with Q-tips...many beautiful ornaments were made!

Discovery Table: This table was closed as I had a meeting with each child for assessments.

Writing Table: I Can Draw People book, white paper, markers, color pencils, Q books and Q worksheets.

It was our last week of Pre-K's Pizza Shop in our Pretend Center.

Looking ahead, we have two Holiday Sweater Days (on Monday & Tuesday) if your child is interested.

See you in the morning!

Mrs. Kelley
