Hello everyone!
This last week of school for December flew by, and we had so much fun in class celebrating together. Thank you all for the lovely gifts that we received, we are truly grateful to have such a wonderful class and families this year. Here is a look at what we did in class this week:
The art table- the class decorated ugly sweater coloring pages and used paper towel holders, paint and glitter to make christmas trees.
The discovery center- the class used scissors to cut ribbon and wrapped "presents" with tape and wrapping paper, then placed them under the classroom Christmas tree. Later in the week we made gingerbread house style Christmas trees! The children were thrilled about this activity, that's for sure!
The math table- we used a game board style spinner to count presents to add to Santa's bag
The easel- we painted bells with jingle bells! We also water colored Christmas and Hanukkah coloring pages.
This week we had Mrs. Kayla in class as a special visitor, thankyou for coming in! We also listened to the story of the Grinch alongside a video as a special treat!
The books we read in class this week included:
What I Love About Christmas
The Grinch
Twas The Night Before Christmas
This week we ended December with the letter I; the week we come back, we will not be having a letter of the week in order to give the children time to get back into class routines.
I hope that you all have an amazing break, and get to enjoy the Holidays to the fullest with your families. We will miss all of the kiddos and hope that they have a magical Christmas! Thank you again and we will see you all on Monday for conferences!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
