Hi All,
We had a great two days of school.
We continued talking about Letter C. The sound it makes and the correct formation of it.
We listened to Thanksgiving For Emily Ann. We discussed how Emily was feeling and what happened in the book. The children came up with ways they could help for Thanksgiving. They had great ideas. So I hope you have some helpers, baking, cooking, setting the table and even picking up!
Some of the activities that took place in our classroom were:
Pretend Center: Pizza Shop
Play Doh: Yellow playdoh, feathers, Mr. Potato Head pieces
Art Easel: Color pencils and coloring sheets
Project Table: Handprint Turkey-these are on the Bulletin Board outside of our classroom.
Hat for Friendship Feast
Free Art
Math Table: Muffin Math-rolling dice, finding the correct color and counting out the correct number of muffins. The children used tongs to put the muffins in a muffin tin.
Discovery Table: Rhyming Sounds Magnetic Sorting Boards
Yesterday, we had a wonderful time at our Friendship Feast. There were alot of goodies! We made a snack mix (cheerios, Fritos, marshmallows & chocolate chips). Each child helped by adding an ingredient for our mix into the bowl. They were all very excited to help! Thank you to the families that donated the ingredients for this & the juice boxes! Mrs. Lay read to the classes and we then performed our song for the other classes. Our group did a wonderful job singing "The Turkey Dance". I was very proud. I hope they sing it to you at home!
Looking ahead:
Pajama Day will be on Monday, December 1st.
Show & Tell for Letter O will be on Thursday.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
