Good morning everyone and happy Valentine's Day!

I hope that all of the children enjoyed opening their Valentine's Day bags and also hope that you all enjoyed the gifts from your children! They were so excited to give them to you and had such a great time passing them out to their friends during our class celebration. This week's letter of the week was N and the week we come back we will be learning about the letter O! We had an amazing time celebrating with all of you who made it to the Valentine's Day dance, and can I just say what great dancers all of these little ones are! Thankyou for coming! Here is a look at what we did this week in centers:

The art table- The class marble painted construction paper hearts, used puffy paint and cut out hearts to create a scene from The Day it Rained Hearts ( we read this last week ), and used torn paper to create I Love You to Pieces art work.

The art easel- The class bubble painted with heart shaped cookie cutters, and sometimes their hands! Then we used paint sticks to decorate Valentine's Day coloring pages.

The math center- Here we counted and sorted candy hearts by color, and completed numbered heart puzzles for numbers one through ten.

The discovery center- The class loved stringing beads onto pipe cleaners in order to make heart shaped bubble wands, then made friendship bracelets.

The books we read in class this week included:

                                                       I Love You by Heart

                                                       Curious George's Valentines Day

                                                       In My Heart

                                                       Pout Pout Fish Special Valentine

Songs we listened to this week included our regulars with the addition of Lava, a story of a volcano in love, and the Valentine's Day Hokey Pokey!

Everyone enjoyed a special Valentine's Day cookie for our class party, and had a lot of fun celebrating with their friends! I hope that you all get to enjoy the week off with your families; have fun and stay safe! See you all again when we get back.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
