Hi Everyone,
Our Reading Street book this week was Quack, Daisy, Quack! by Jane Simmons. "When Aunt Lily takes Daisy and her little brother Pip, to the feeding pond where all the ducks are quacking, they think they've found the perfect playground, until they lose sight of Mama Duck."
Our song was Let's All Play. Our vocabulary words were visiting, pulled, noisy, piece, pushing and shouting.
We also read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly! by Lucille Colandro, The Gingerbread Man by Jim Aylesworth and The Gingerbread Cowboy by Janet Squires.
Our Letter of the Week was O. Our song was Olive Spots Rocks.
Other activities in our classroom this week were:
Discovery Table: Cup Building
Art Easel: We started the week painting owls with a scrub brush. Then moved onto using dot markers and color pencils to decorate an octopus.
Project Table: Free Art-WOW! There was so much creativity at this table. There were cardboard tubes, paper plates, elastics, tape, different scissors, paper, tissue paper, crayons and markers. Instruments, Pete the Cat, a robot, a helmet, a car for a gingerbread to drive, a couch for our dollhouse and a castle were just some of the items made.
Listening Center: The Ninjabread Man by CJ Leigh
Math Table: Shape Sorting
Writing Table: O Worksheets, O books, white paper and markers
Pretend Center: Pizza Shop
Sensory Table: Fairy garden
Our play-doh is now green with gold sparkles. There are holiday cookie cutters, candy cane pipe cleaners and snowflakes to use.
Looking ahead: Show & Tell for letter Q will be on Thursday.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
