Week 3 in 3's
Another successful week at school! We had beautiful weather and spent lots of time playing outside at recess. I have attached a few recess photos. Favorite activities are riding bikes, climbing on the play structure and playing in the sand box. The children made up a treasure hunt game in the sand box. They have found a LOT of gold! As the days get cooler, please dress your child in layers. If you send them with a sweatshirt or jacket, please make sure it is labeled.
This week at CIRCLE TIME we listened to a Barefoot Book called If You’re Happy and You Know It. Barefoot Books are some of my favorite stories because not only do they come in paperback book form with music cd, you can also find beautifully animated versions on the Barefoot Books YouTube page. If you have time at home, search for If You’re Happy and You Know It. The kiddos really enjoyed it! Music and movement songs included The Freeze and A Very Simple Dance.
As I said last week, because the children are only in school for 2 days a week, we like them to have enough time to really explore materials before they are switched.
Here is what’s NEW in centers:
Block Bins: Magnatiles and little wooden people- They LOVED the magnatiles! Lots of teamwork and very cool creations in this center!
Art/Fine Motor: First name coloring pages with markers and stickers, and owl dot marker pages- they seem to really enjoy coloring and stickers, the dot markers were also popular.
Red Bins: Cars, road mat- This was also a big hit!
LOTS of new activities coming next week as we move into October!
Have a great weekend! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
Your teachers,
Brenda Daday & Christina Renoni
