Week of January 11th in Mixed Age

Hello Mixed Age Families,

Sorry for the delay with getting the weekly email out today, it was a very busy afternoon.

We did have a great 3 days of school this week and the kids enjoyed being together and playing at the centers. Here are some of the things we did this week at the centers.

Math Table~ Snowman with numbered hats 1-10 along with buttons to place on the snowman to correspond with the number on the hats.

Discovery Table~ A Self Portrait~~ A face template along with colored and pencils and a mirror so they could look at themselves. This was an enjoyable activity for them and we had some pretty good looking faces.

Art/Writing~ Snow globe snowman, the kids each made a snowman out of makeup pads and added the hats, sticks and carrots noses. They glued all the pieces on a blue circle and when the glue was dry they painted using box, 2 marbles, and white paint. They are now hanging up in the classroom (picture attached). Today they dot painted snowflakes. I have been encouraging the kids to write their names on their artwork while at school, they have been doing a super job!!

Listening Center~There was an Cold Lady who Swallowed some Snow

Puzzles and Games rug~ We have a big solar system puzzle put out this month, the kids have been doing a super job working together to put the puzzle together.
