Closing Out May in Enrichment!
Hi everyone!
I can't believe that next week holds the last few days of our school year. This is a reminder that next Wednesday, June 5th is our last day of school. But I hear some of our friends are coming back for some summer enrichment program!
We had our last meeting with Sensei Michael this Wednesday. If anyone is interested, you can find out more information about his dojo by heading to Lotus Studios on Facebook. He would be thrilled to see his Enrichment friends again!
Our book this week was A is for Astronaut by Traci N. Todd. It was an exploration through the space alphabet starting with A is for Astronaut and ending with Z is for ZOOM! There was a whole lot of information in the book that we didn't read, so if your child is interested, it would be a good book to pick up!Â
What was new in centers this week?
Art- We colored and cut space spirals to hang.
Easel- The children used chalk to color outside of a star cutout. We then removed the cutout to see the coloring that was left around it.
Math- The children LOVE search and finds. The 8 planets were hidden around the room, and the children had a clipboard with a checklist that they had to check off when they found the matching planet.
Discovery- With Spring out in full force we did our own (indoor) insect inspection with "fossils" and magnifying glasses.
We hope that you all enjoy your weekend!
Warmly,
Christina Renoni and Julie Haynes
