Closing Out May in the 3's!
Hi everyone!
I can't believe the next time we see your little ones it will be the last week of school! Just a reminder, we'll be having our Teddy Bear Picnic next Thursday, June 6th! We hope to see you there!
Our book this week was Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. This is a great classic to reinforceĀ colors and animals. The children also got to help tell the story by asking the questions on each page, and putting each animal on a felt board as we read.
What was new in centers this week?
Art- We painted coffee filters on Tuesday, then transformedĀ them into butterflies today! OurĀ fine motor muscles Ā got quite the workoutĀ with this craft. We also colored some popsicle pictures.
Easel- The children used chalk to color outside of a star cutout. We then removed the cutout to see the coloring that was left around it.
Math- The children LOVE search and finds. The 8 planets were hidden around the room, and the children had a clipboard with a checklist that they had to check off when they foundĀ the matching planet.
Discovery- With Spring out in full force we did our own (indoor) insect inspection with "fossils" and magnifying glasses.
The block area and pretend center are always big hits with these kids!
We hope you have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Christina Renoni and Julie Haynes
