Happy Thanksgiving from Enrichment!

Hi everyone!

We had just one day of school this week, but we packed a lot into it! I'm hoping you've heard from your children about the Thankful Tree that we've been working on this month. We started by talking about what "thankful" means, "Something that makes us happy, and we'd be sad if it went away", then made a list of the things we are thankful for. These were all their own thoughts and ideas. Each day we were in school in November, the children added new ideas to the list, then we voted for one thing each day to be added to our Thankful Tree (except for today, when everything that got a vote was added to the tree. Below are pictures of what the children thought of and voted for.

Our book today was Bear Says Thanks by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman. Bear was lonely, so his friends come to his cave and share things with him, and each time they do he says "Thanks". A great read for right before the holiday!

We didn't have centers today, because we had our Jack and Jill Friendship Feast. The children wore hats they made that had an acorn colored by each of their friends, performed The More We Get Together for the other classes, listened to a guest reader (Mrs. Lehane) read The Night Before Thanksgiving by Natasha Wing, and shared our pumpkin muffins, along with other snacks prepared by the other classes, with everyone! It was a lot of fun, and they did so well! I'm so proud of all their hard work, thei
