Lots of Learning in Enrichment!

Good evening Enrichment Families!

This week was short but packed with lots of fun. We got to enjoy the beautiful fall weather on the playground, and the children started to notice some of the changing leaves!

We are all really enjoying having Sensei Michael with us on Wednesdays for karate. Be sure to ask your child about what he is teaching us, and have them show you what we’ve learned!

What’s new this week:

Book - How do dinosaurs learn to be kind? By Jane Yolen and Mark Teague. Learning how to be kind can be challenging, even for dinosaurs! With practice, leading by example, and lots of repetition, we can help children develop empathy and compassion; and learning this with the help of a dinosaur is always more fun!

Art- We made community art by covering the table with paper working together to paint a unique masterpiece.

Easel- Watercolor hidden leaf paintings. As the children began painting on “blank” paper, they noticed something very special happening…

Math- Pumpkin Math Ten-Frames

Pretend center- This is our last week of using recycled materials to create new things in the pretend center. It has been great to see their little imaginations at work!

We also played with wooden and foam blocks, puzzles and train tracks.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ashlee Taylor & Christina Renoni
