The Last Week of April in Mixed Age

Hello Mixed Age Families, It was great to be back at school this week, everyone did a super job getting back into the classroom routine and loved being together again. It's hard to believe that we are going into our last full month of school. We have some special events coming up in May so please be on the lookout in the next few weeks. Our first event is Snacks with Someone Special on May 10. Here is what we did in the classroom this week. Math Table~ Rubber animal counters and wooden builders. Discovery Table~ The kids had another hunt to do around the classroom. This week was find the letters of the alphabet or find the letters in your name. The letters were on sticky notes hanging on the walls around the room.They carried their clip boards around the room on the hunt for the ABC's. I love the team work the kids were showing each other as they were doing this activity. Art Table~ Decorating Flowers and birds for our bulletin board. They kids got to choose what flower they wanted to color, they used crayons, markers and dot painters to make their flowers beautiful. They choose what color bird body they wanted, glued on feet, beak and colored an eye on. The wings were made by tracing their hands and cutting them out and attaching them to the body. Easel~ Paper towel tube painting to make flowers and green markers and green colored pencils to make the stems.
