A Week in Pre-K 2!

Hello Pre K Families,

We had a great week in Pre-K and were happy to have Mrs. Taylor back!

This is what went on in the centers this week!

a great week.

****We will be starting “Star of the Day” next week, this goes together with taking “ Teddy” home to chronicle your child’s weekend! Each year we have a class stuffed animal that takes a turn visiting each child’s house while you chronicle via pictures and descriptions of the activities. When it is your child’s turn , you will receive a bag with the picture, a book and instructions!

When they bring the bag back to school- They are the STAR of the day. It is a show and tell day just for them. Each Wednesday will feature one child. You will receive the bag on a Thursday and it is due back in school on Wednesday! The children were very excited to start this and applauded for Avery when her name was pulled out! We also made a pledge before I announced the name, promising not to get upset if your name isn't called because everyone will get one turn!!!

Dramatic Play- The Pet Care center is very busy!

Playdough- The children love making snowmen with the white glitter playdough, adding a hat, eyes, carrot nose and scarf.

Art Easel- Puffy paint snowmen.

Discovery Table- To expand on our Reading Street book, the children were given a white egg that had been soaked in Cola . Their job was to use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean the damage from the sugary drink! We talked about foods that make teeth happy and foods that make teeth sad. They really enjoyed turning the egg back to white!

Art Table- G is for Giraffe, G is for Gumball machine. Glitter Glasses!

The Reading Street book this week was “Somebody Stole My Smile!” by Carmen Tafolla. Our reading selection this week was all about how things grow and change. The girl in our story is growing up. She lost her first tooth. She learns that many things grow and change.

Reading Street song- I lost a Baby Tooth!

G-Song- Get Going Get Going.

We also read- The Jacket I Wear in the Snow

********Next week letter of the week is S- Show and tell on Tuesday.*********

Have a great long weekend! See you Tuesday!

Miss Pascal
