Another Great Week in the 3's

Good afternoon 3’s families,

It was so nice getting the chance to chat with you during parent teacher conferences. Your children have made so much progress this year and we look forward to having a great last month with them. Snacks with Someone Special was a blast!

This week at CIRCLE TIME,

· We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. We will read this story next week too, because the kiddos really enjoyed it.

· We sang the hello song.

· We danced during music and movement.

What’s new in CENTERS this week?

Pretend Center: This has been a busy center! The children have lots of opportunities to practice turn-taking and sharing toys. We are very proud that they are using the skills we have learned throughout the year.

Sensory Bins: The boys and girls are loving their ocean-themed sand boxes.

Playdough Bins: Lots of cutting, squeezing and rolling with their blue playdough. The also like to hide the butterfly and frog in a ball of playdough and dig them out. This is a great activity for building up strength in their hands and fingers.

Art: This week we used markers to decorate butterfly masks. We also made first name gardens. The children used colored dots with the letters of their name on them for the petals. They used marker to draw stem and matched the petals with the matching letter flower-center. Check out the photo below!

Easel- The children used dot stickers to practice making AB pattern (red, blue, red, blue) caterpillars

Discovery Bins: Fine motor and color matching practice this week with treasure chests and keys

Yellow Bins: The children worked on more AB patters using plastic chips to make caterpillars.

Block Bins: Lots of towers being built this week in the block area and the car ramp continues to be a favorite.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend!

Your teachers,

Brenda Daday & Christina Renoni
