February Fun in Mixed Age

Hello Mixed Age Families,

I hope this email finds you all safe and cozy! It is not the way we wanted to end this strange school week but it is winter and we live in New England snow days can happen......typically not in the same week! Even though we had only 3 days of school this week we got a lot done including the artwork hanging up on the bulletin board in the hallway! We did not get a chance to take many picture thus week :(

Here is what we had in the classroom this week:

Math Table~ Numbered clouds 1-10 and blue glass gems

Discovery Table~ Valentine's sensory bottles along with squishy colorful finger puppets

Easel~ Q-tip painting with pink or purple paint on to hearts

Art/Writing~ "I love you to Pieces" sheet. The children had to put glue inside the heart and fill it with ripped tissue paper, small paper hearts or cut up heart ribbon. They all worked hard writing their names on the bottom of the paper after their hearts were decorated. We also had hat decorating, and coloring sheets along with Valentine's stampers.

Pretend Center~ Is now a weather station equipped with a laptop, microphones, weather maps and name tags. They enjoyed the center and enjoyed putting on the different types of weather on the map.

Play-doh~ We now have purple play-doh along with heart cookie cutters and tools. The children enjoyed making cookies for their teachers and classmates.

Books:

Tacky the Penguin By Helen Lester

My Heart is Like a Zoo By Michael Hall

Music:

Freeze Dance

Animal Action

Listen and Move

The Floor is Lava

Letter N is our show and tell letter next week. Please have your child bring in 1 item on on Monday morning!

We hope you all have a safe cozy weekend.

Best,

Julie Haynes & Katy Fyrberg
