Feeling Thankful in Enrichment!

Hello Enrichment families,

We had a very fun and busy week with your little ones! On Monday we had special guest reader Mr. G. He read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. This week we continued our class discussion about being thankful and talked a lot about things that make us happy. We are also talking about and working on using kind words and actions with our classmates and our teachers. The children are enjoying getting involved in these discussions with us at school and we hope you are able to continue the conversation at home as well!

What’s new this week?

Book - Our books this week were Bear Says Thanks by Karma Wilson and The Thank You Book by Mo Willems. Both of these books talk about friendship and being thankful for the people in our lives, and we hope this sparks similar conversations in your homes about these topics.

Discovery - Animal Habitat sorting. We are continuing our discussion about habitats, and this week we are talking about polar and ocean habitats!

Art - Friendship hats. We worked together to make friendship hats for our Friendship celebration at school on Monday. Stay tuned for these to come home next week!

Math - Turkey clothespin number match. Each turkey has a different number on them (numbers 1-5), and the children had to find the coordinating number and clip it onto the turkey to give him his “feathers”.

Today we used the math table to prepare some pumpkin muffin mix! Everyone got involved in measuring and mixing. We will bake them this weekend and share them with our friends on Monday during our Friendship celebration.

Easel - Lego corn art. We used legos to paint corn! Check these out on the bulletin board in the hallway! We also used watercolor paints to paint "thankful" pictures.

We hope you have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you on Monday!
