Having So Much Fun in 4 Day Pre-K This Week!

Hello Pre-K 2 Families!

The kids are off to a great start! They are all adjusting to the routine and getting to know each

other. We hung up all the 'All About Me’ projects in the classroom (they came out AWESOME) Please remember to have your child bring their yellow folder into the classroom every morning along with their snack/water.

This week we started the Reading Street program and the kids really enjoyed it! I think their favorite part was the song that went along with the book. Our book was called “Guess Who” and it talked about different jobs that people have (teacher, dentist, mail carrier, photographer)

At the art table this week we had different “career hats” that the children could create. We also had different stamps and coloring sheets as well.

At the sensory table we had kinetic sand with construction trucks (that was a HUGE hit!) There was so much creativity at this area because the kids kept pretending they were at construction sites and different buildings and shops were being created.

Dramatic play was set up as a restaurant and a post office. We also have some dolls, farm animals and magnet-tiles over there on the shelves as well this week.

The Writing Center had some tracing papers and a few construction truck theme ones as well. The Math Center had counting blocks that the kids used to build towers!

Play-doh is always a favorite! This week we had teal play-doh with different shapes and tools to use. At the Literacy Area we had a book on cd for the kids to enjoy with headphones! The book was “Good-Night Good-Night Construction Site” and all the kids highly enjoyed it!

Block Area was quite a sight to see! The towers and buildings we got to see were incredible. One group even made a hockey rink!

Next week we will be starting HandWriting Without Tears and our first letter is “L”. The next unit in our Reading Street program is “Follow The Leader”. We will be sending home OPTIONAL homework for the children to do and send back in their yellow folder if they wish. It will be a worksheet for them to continue practicing the letter of the week (L) . I hope everyone has a great week and we can’t wait to see everyone on Monday! If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of us!
