Hello everyone!
I hope that you are all doing well. We had a fun and busy week at Jack and Jill; we are very proud of how much the children are learning and supporting one another in the classroom! This week's letter of the week was D, next week we will be learning the letter E. Thankyou to everyone who has donated to the food drive so far. Here is a look at what we did throughout the week.
Â
The art table- This week the class made fall leaf sun catchers, used glue and torn tissue paper to decorate candy corn, and used markers and crayons to decorate coloring pages for the letter D.
Â
The math table- Here the class counted acorns and "fed" them to some very hungry squirrels in a count and match activity.
Â
The easel- The class painted with pinecones this week! We also included water color painting on Friday.Â
Â
The discovery center- This center was a favorite throughout the week, where the children used small golf tees and plastic hammers to hammer into small pumpkins, and then stretched rubber bands across the tees. On Thursday and Friday the class used magnetic dolls and clothing to adorn princesses, firemen, construction workers, and other fun characters.Â
Â
The books we read in class this week included:
              Â
Your My Little Pumpkin Pie- Thankyou Claire!
The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear
                 Five Silly Turkeys
                 The Scarecrow's HatÂ
This week we began practicing our class song for the Friendship Feast we will be having at school. The children have enjoyed learning the words and dancing along to the song! (Hello Mr. Turkey)Â
Â
I hope that you all enjoy your weekend, and we will see everyone again next week!
Â
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. HaynesÂ
