Moving Through March in Enrichment!
Good afternoon everyone!
Though this was a short week, we packed in a lot of fun!
This past Tuesday was our last group time with Sensei Michael. The children had a great time with him, and I highly recommend him to anyone who asks! In case you're interested he runs (and has for quite some time) Lotus Studios in North Attleboro. You can find further details on the Lotus Studios Facebook page. Our next program, Yoga, will start in April.
Today we had a visit from Mrs. G. We heard a story about an ice cream sundae, moved our bodies to the pitch and rhythm of Mrs. G playing the glockenspiel, and reviewed our favorite teddy bear song.
Our book this week was Ten Lucky Leprechauns by Katherine Heling and Deborah Hembrook. We found and counted ten "wee" leprechauns, and all the silly things they were doing.
What was NEW in centers?
Art- Sticky rainbows- The children worked their fine motor muscles ripping strips of paper to put together rainbows on sticky paper.
Math- Roll and cover pots of gold- Covering the number that they rolled on a dice with a gold coin, they filled in the pot of gold!
Easel- The children scratched patterns, pictures, and letters into green and rainbow shamrocks.
And because we had two days of school and a special guest each day, we were so busy we forgot to take pictures. Sorry about that, we'll pick it back up next week!
We hope you have a safe and healthy rest of your week and weekend!
See you Monday for Favorite Color Day!
Christina Renoni, Ashlee Taylor, and Erica Derbyshire
