November Memories in Mixed Age!

Hello Mixed Age families!

It was a short and busy week in our classroom. Our centers have changed over for November and we had a great time rocking out to 80s hits all week during our dance breaks! These kids really have some great dance moves! Our pretend center is now a bakery, we have cinnamon scented glittery brown play dough with googly eyes, feathers and pipe cleaner beaks and feet for making turkeys! Our sensory table has been converted into a pie making station with fava beans, mini pie tins, and knit “berries” and pompoms. The kids have been very busy in these centers all week!

We have been working as a class to put our coats on “the Jack and Jill way”: tag to the toes, arms in the holes, and up and over the head it goes

Here’s a recap of what we did this week, in addition to our sensory and imaginative play stations:

Discovery: Colanders served as a platform for decorating with feathers. We had hats and turkeys made all week long.

Math: we did a shape hunt at the math table this week. The friends were busy with their clipboards searching the classroom, this was one of the most popular places all week!

Art: We saved the clippings from our coffee filter bats to create colorful fall trees. We also kept out the puffy stickers to work on our pincer grasp. At the easel we had cotton rounds held by a clothespin, dipped in a variety of fall colors for leaf stamping. These came out so great, and it was fun to see all the color combinations the children came up with.

Music:

Peanut Butter Jelly Time

Walking on Sunshine

Whip It

Never Gonna Give You Up

Books:

Would You Rather be a Bullfrog

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Spider

I look forward to seeing you next week!
