Hi All,
Please make sure that your child has a coat, hat and mittens daily. And that these items are in their coat sleeve before they enter the classroom in the morning! When we get ready for recess, the children just grab their coat from the hallway. We have many children that either don't have what they need or can't find where their hat and mittens are. Also, do not send gloves unless your child can put them on independently. Thank you!
Our Reading Street book this week was Subway by Anastasia Suen. "A rush of air, a car is there, hop, hop, hop on the subway. Come along for the ride as a little girl and her mother hop on the subway. From spinning turnstiles and musicians performing on the platform to people hopping off and on and lights flashing past in the tunnels, the sights and sounds of the subway have an energy all of their own." Our song was Let's Travel in the City. Our vocabulary words were subway, hurry, stair, cars, ride and stop.
We also read Give Thanks for Each Day by Steve Metzger, The Berenstain Bears Forget Their Manners by Stan & Jan Berenstain and Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin.
Our Letter of the Week was C. Our song was Can You Sit on the Cot? We talked about how making C strokes will help us to draw circles and make other letters too. These letters are O, Q, G & S. The children were very excited to meet the Magic C Bunny. We practiced making the letter C in the air and sang along to the Magic C Song with the bunny. We will continue learning about letter C next week too.

Looking ahead, there will be no Show & Tell because we only have school on Monday and Tuesday. We will be having a special snack on Tuesday for our Friendship Feast. You do not have to send a snack in with your child that day. Thank you very much to the families that donated the ingredients for our snack mix!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
