Hello everyone,
I hope that you are all doing well! We had such a great time learning together in class this week. We learned about the letter F and enjoyed many unique show and tell items from home! The children loved talking about all of the words they learned starting with the letter F. Next week we will not be including a letter of focus due to the shortened week. We began introducing scissors this week at the playdough center, and the class has been doing great with them! Here is a look at the other fun things we did in centers this week-
The art table- The class continued to make unique collages that were used as feathers to decorate Mr. Turkey in the hallway. We then made placemats for Thanksgiving and sent home handprint turkey poems. The children absolutely loved having their little hands painted!
The easel- here we used dot markers to decorate scarecrows and turkeys!
The math table- The class attached Velcro feathers to numbered turkey bodies. Everyone is doing great with counting up to ten!
The discovery center- Here we used feathers, stickers, and construction paper to adorn Styrofoam cup turkeys.
The writing center- The class has continued working on identifying and tracing the letters of their names and the letter of the week.
Books we read in class this week included:
Acorn was a Little Wild
Run, Turkey, Run!
Squirrel's Busy Day
We had a great time with all of you at PJ story time this past Tuesday, and look forward to many more fun filled events in the future. I hope that all of you enjoy the rest of your weekend, and look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
