October is Almost Over in Mixed Age!

Good Afternoon Mixed Age Families,

We hope this email finds you all well and healthy. We have been talking a lot all week about coughing in our elbows and washing our hands a lot. We also had a busy week for visitors and everyone has been enjoying the playground; when it's not raining.

On Tuesday we had Firefighter Tim from the Seekonk Fire department come in, he dressed up in his gear and talked to the children about what number to call in an emergency.... 911.

Today we had Firefighter Tom (Logan's Dad) come in from the Needham Fire Department. He dressed up his gear and showed us lots of tools that he uses and even had an Axe with him and a fire hose. We also had Mr. G came in to read, he read Room on the Broom!

Here is what we did in the classroom this week.

Math Table~ Feed the squirrels 1-10 acorns

Discovery Table~ Pumpkin exploring; They were able to scoop out the seeds and touch all the insides and loved getting an up close look by using the magnifying glasses.

Art/Writing Table~ Everyone was able to decorate a little pumpkin with stickers and some of them also made handprint ghosts. They love drawing pictures using the markers and crayons.

Easel~ Leaf cookie cutter printing using red, yellow, orange or brown ink.

Pretend Center~ Is now a doctors office with nurse and doctors clothes, casts, stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs and lots of other assorted medical things. They have enjoyed taking care of their baby doll patients.

We had shaving cream at the play dough table, it sure was messy but they loved it and it smelled good too.

Things we have been working on in the classroom. Hanging backpacks on the back of their chairs at snack time. If you have a small chair at home maybe they can practice this weekend :)
