Playful Discoveries in 4 Day Pre-K!
Hello Families!
I can't believe we are in our final full month of Pre-K! We have a lot going on in the classroom. Each child's individual cup of grass has finally started growing. Also our caterpillars are in their chrysalis. We will begin practicing our songs for Graduation this month as well. On Monday May 6th we will have our in-school Field Trip! Someone from Roger Williams Zoo will be visiting us along with some animals. Our next Letter Of The Week is "X"
Here is a look at our centers...
-At the Art Table the kids did their "end of the year" self-portraits that we will put in their portfolios. They came out AWESOME! The children have also been working hard on their gifts for Mother's Day!
-At the Discovery Center the kids got to examine and sort a variety of seeds. There was cucumber, carrots, red peppers, sunflower and morning glory seeds for them to look at. We also had a plant for them to look at with a magnifying glass. The caterpillars were also out for them to look at and document their observations.
-At the Math Table the kids went on a Number Scavenger Hunt around the classroom. This was a blast!
-At the Easel we had a bunch of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "Unicorn" coloring sheets.
-The Sensory Table was changed over into Forest Animals with wood chips.
-The Dramatic Play area was transformed into A Grocery Store/Kitchen.
-At the Writing Table we had "W" worksheets and books for them to make. Mrs.Derbyshire and myself were SO impressed with how many "W" words the kids were able to come up with (we do this with each letter of the week on Thursdays) They came up with 53 words!!! WOW!!!
I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend and we will see you on Monday!
