Our Last Full Week in Mixed Age!
Hello Mixed Age Families,
Well, our last full week of school is behind us! We only have 2 days together next week as Monday is a Holiday and Wednesday is our last day of school. Next week will be very busy in our classroom and we look forward to having a little celebration on Wednesday with all of the families at 11:30 on the playground.
Here is what we did at the centers this week:
Math Table~ Number keys 1-10 and locks
Discovery Table~ Black beans, star beads, and marbles (planets). They enjoyed using the tweezers to sort the beads and looking at the space books that were at the table.
Art/Writing Table~ This week we painted with star cookie cutters using red, white and blue paint. They also made planets using marbles to paint with, they came out so cool. Watercolor painting was at the art table today.
There was assorted coloring and writing sheets at the writing table.
Easel~ Painting stars on black paper using q-tips to paint with.
At the play dough we put our caterpillars out for the kids to get a closer look. They decorated a picture to put on the bottom of the butterfly tent, today we moved the caterpillars into the tent as they are all cozy in their cacoons and going through their change. We will keep an eye on them and hope they will make an appearance before Wednesday. We did get to see the Pre-k 1's butterflies that emerged yesterday. They were all very excited to see them fly around the tent. Mrs. Fyrberg also had a walking water experiment she showed the kids, they enjoyed watching the process and seeing the final product.
We had a blast on our field trip on Tuesday, it was quite the tour and learned so much. Thank you to all of our chaperones as well as the Attleboro Fire Department! It was the best day and we topped it off with a picnic on the playground!
