Good Evening Everyone!!
Happy Fall everyone. We had a great week. We had our first indoor recess this week(2 days in a row). We set up an obstacle course and the kids had a blast!
Here are some schoolwide reminders:
• Water bottles that are left in the classroom can only have water in it. If your child wants to have juice or something else in their water bottle, they will have to put it in their bag and take it back out at lunch.
• For birthday celebration we ask that you pick from these options: Oreos, Lofthouse cookies, Rice Krispie treats, or fresh fruit. We also ask that only the treats be sent in.
Another tip for both snack and lunch: if possible can you send any fruits/vegetables already peeled to make snack and lunch easier. Also, including a napkin in the lunchbox is very helpful for the students to practice table manners. Thank you for your help with this.
The books we read this week were: Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn, Squirrels Busy Day, The Pirate Who Said Please, Gray Rabbits 1,2,3 and Lacey Walker Nonstop Talker.
Centers
Listening Center: The Koala That Could.
Playdough Table: Green playdough with cutters, rollers, scissors and animal cutouts.
Dramatic Play: Barn with barn animals, we added a new piggie this week.
Art Table: Apple sheet painting with cotton balls, fall tree painting with Q-Tips, and painting with apples.
Science/Math table: Fall shape patterns & make your own apple bird feeder.
Sensory Table: It has farm animals and shovels filled with corn and beans.
Art Easel: happy fall, apple tree, barn and farmer coloring sheets with markers.
Writing Table: We started practicing tracing letters.
We always have blocks, puzzles, and writing boards available during centers. We added some fidgets this week. The children are still loving the toy barn with animals so we kept that at blocks and added some tractors to go with it.
If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to reach out. Enjoy your weekend.
Warmly,
Mrs. Derbyshire & Mrs. Deighan
