Another Fun Week in Pre-K 1!

Hello Families,

What a busy week we have had! We fit SO MUCH into the four days we were at school this week.

On Wednesday, we were very lucky to have a visit with Mrs. T. For those of you unfamiliar with Mrs. T, she has been a monthly visitor to Jack and Jill for years. She provides wonderful stories and songs and is always a hit with the children! We had a lot of fun singing and dancing along with her.

On Thursday, Officer Daday from the Attleboro Police Department came to visit us. The children were able to sit in his police cruiser (put on the lights and siren) and even sit in the back!

Today, Mr. G (he is Mrs. Renoni's Dad...she teaches Enrichment/3's Class) came in to read to us. He read the book Took The Moon For A Walk by Carolyn Curtis. The children really enjoyed the story he read and his visit with us. One friend asked if he would be back to read another book tomorrow.

Because we were so busy we took a break from our Reading Street Curriculum. We did read When The Lead Blew In by Steve Metzger. We listened to Tippy-Tippy-Tippy, Splash! by Candace Fleming. Ask your children who this story was about and what happened. They really enjoyed it!

Our Letter Sound Song was Way Up High.

Our Centers this week:

Writing Table: H Worksheets, H Letter Hunt, paper, scissors and writing tools

Discovery Table: Recycling Challenge...sorting items into recycling barrels (plastic, aluminum, cardboard, glass, cardboard and paper)

Math Table: Elephant Counting cards and links to attach

Art Easel: Lego Painting-the children pressed the Lego block into the paint and then decorated their fall trees by pressing it on their paper.

Art Table: Free Art with white paper, leaves, twigs, bark and markers

H is for Horse.....the children made the letter H and then turned it into a horse. A few friends were busy and did not make it to this table today. I told them I would have this craft available on Monday too.

Sensory Table: Corn and beans with farm, animals, bowls, spoons and scoopers

Looking ahead our Letter of the Week next week will be T. Show & Tell will be on Wednesday.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kelley
