January Adventures in Mixed Age!

Hello Mixed Age Families,

The fun and learning continue in Mixed Age! We were happy to be able to get outside a few days this week. But on the days we couldn’t get outside we enjoyed music and movement with our indoor obstacle course. The kids kept asking to go through one more time! 😊 Our letter of the week next week will be the letter E. Please have your child bring in one show and tell item that starts with the letter E on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Mr. G read to the class on Monday. He read Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller. We talk about being kind often in our classroom so this book was perfect!

Mat Man continues to be a favorite activity as well. The children even tried to draw Mat Man this week.

We read Snowball by Sue Hendra and Sadie and the Snowman by Allen Morgan this week.

Here’s a look at our centers this week!

Dramatic play: Hot cocoa and chocolate coffee and ice skating

Math: Unifix cubes

Discovery: Measuring with tweezer and vehicles

Art Table: D is for dinosaur creations

Easel: Snowflake cookie cutter painting

Writing Table: Letter D worksheets, chalkboards and name cards

Play-Doh: Shaving cream fun

Puzzles and games: Listening center with William’s Winter Nap

Ms. Meyer has settled into the Mixed Age classroom and we are excited for her to take over on Monday. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Katrina Lay
