Welcoming November in Pre-K 1!
Hello All,
We had a busy and fun week in our classroom. On Monday, each child was able to pick a pumpkin and decorate it. Everyone worked really hard at cutting, peeling, tying, twisting and gluing items to decorate their pumpkin.
We did a lot of painting....sparkly paint at the Project Table and spray water colors at the easel.
At the Project Table, we also made umbrellas and colored unicorns.
Our Reading Street Book this week was Wynken, Blynken & Nod by Eugene Field. "Wynken, Blynken & Nod takes children on a magical journey into the night sky where three fishermen sail in a wooden shoe, capturing the stars in net of silver and gold and laughing with the moon. And when the nighttime adventure comes to an end, the wooden shoe brings the fishermen home to the real world of a child fast asleep." The children loved winking, blinking and nodding. Our Reading Street song was Come and Pretend With Me. Our vocabulary words were dew, fishermen, river, fish, nets and waves.
Math Table: Sorting shapes and colors and making patterns.
Our Letter of the Week was U. Our song was Glub, Glub, Guppies in a Tub. We listened to the story Click Clack Boo.
On Wednesday, Goldfish Swim School came in to visit. They talked about water safety and the children got to practice some safety tips.
On Thursday, Mrs. G came in to visit. She read The Leopard's Drum. After listening to the story, each child chose which animal they wanted to be and were able to play Mrs. G's drum.
This week:
